“To anyone who wants to know how electrolysis works, I can describe the process and its results. But actually, I let my steady clients explain to the new ones what it does”, says Surila Bajaj working in her salon, Magic Touch, a 10th floor suite in Downtown Manhattan.
Ms. Bajaj, a certified electrologist and make-up artist, has over 31 years of experience in hair removal. She has helped many women find a permanent solution to unwanted hair. Men have also benefitted from her art. She specializes in hair removal through laser, electrolysis and waxing. Working in this profession for over three decades, she possesses not only the expertise required for blemish-free hair removal, but also the patience to accommodate her clients’ varied scheduling requests, which continue to increase. Naturally, her clients return to her again and again for the elegant magic touch she imparts with a warm glow of friendly care.
Ms. Bajaj graduated from the renowned Kree School of Electrolysis in 1984. Her passion for becoming an expert electrologist comes from her own tribulations suffered during electrolysis treatments, tried in about a dozen salons. Scars and scabs inflicted on her face during the treatments made her search for a scar-free solution, which led her to the right electrologist and a resolve to master the technique. Ms. Bajaj also gained proficiency in the use of lasers for aesthetic procedures.
Her next milestone arrived in 1989, with the opening of Magic Touch, where she proudly guarantees permanent removal of hair through elctrolysis and laser treatments. Clients flock in from the bustling Wall Street area of Downtown Manhattan as well as from distant neighbourhoods of Brooklyn and Westchester. Gratified and reassured, her clients leave beaming with satisfaction.
Ms. Bajaj regularly attends workshops, seminars and training courses that keep her at the cutting edge of hair removal techniques. She holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Delhi University in India and enjoys politics and movies in her free time. But helping her clients get rid of unwanted hair is a passion that keeps her cheerful and going.
